How do I get a good 3D model? Use one object per photo, fully in frame, in good light, on a plain surface. After you pick a photo, tap the object you want; the rest of the photo is ignored. Shiny, transparent or very thin objects (glass, wires, hair) are the hardest. A model takes about 2–3 minutes. You can leave that screen and keep using the app; the model appears in My Shapes when it's ready.
Why does the back of my model look different? A single photo only shows one side. The AI imagines the parts it couldn't see.
Viewing in AR Open a model and tap View in your room, then switch to AR and point your iPhone at a table or the floor. AR needs an iPhone with ARKit support.
3D printing Open a model and tap 3D print it to open Print Studio. Choose the height and your printer to see the size, an estimate of the filament and whether the model fits. Then pick the format (3MF for Bambu Studio, Bambu Handy and PrusaSlicer; STL for any slicer) and share the file to your slicer or save it to Files. Exports are free. The filament number is an estimate at 15% infill, without supports; your slicer has the final number. Printed models aren't toys for children under 3 and aren't food-safe; see our Terms of Use.
Name on a base In Print Studio, turn on Name on a base and type up to 18 characters. Preview in 3D is free. The credits are charged once per model when you export, and after that you can change the name or size for free. Latin letters, digits and common punctuation work; emoji don't. The total height stays the one you chose, base included.
Lithophanes A lithophane is a thin panel that shows your photo when light passes through it. Choose Lithophane on the Create tab and pick a photo; it's ready in seconds and works best with clear, well-lit photos. Print it upright in white PLA, at 100% infill and a layer height of 0.12 mm or less, then hold it up to a lamp or a window. It looks like a blurry relief until it's lit from behind.
Credits and purchases Each 3D model uses credits, bought with Apple In-App Purchase. New users get free credits to start, and purchased credits never expire. If a generation fails, its credits are refunded automatically. If a purchase didn't add credits, email us with the purchase date. Apple handles billing and refunds through your Apple account.
