ShapeShot — Terms of Use

Last updated: November 1, 2026 · Operator: Lucian Albescu (individual) · Contact: luciteck@gmail.com

By using ShapeShot you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

1. The service

ShapeShot turns photos you choose into AI-generated 3D models. You can view them in augmented reality and export them for 3D printing. Models are AI-generated approximations: - parts the camera couldn't see, such as the back or underside, are invented by the AI; - proportions, details, text and colors may differ from the real object.

A model is not a measured or certified copy of anything.

Lithophane works differently and doesn't use AI: it turns the brightness of your photo into the thickness of a thin panel. The result depends on your printer, filament and light source.

2. Credits

3. Acceptable use: zero tolerance

Only upload photos you own or have permission to use. Do not use ShapeShot to create: - sexually explicit content. Any sexualized content involving minors leads to an immediate ban and a report to the authorities; - likenesses of real people without their consent, or content meant to harass, defame or deceive; - anything else that is unlawful.

We use automated content-safety checks. We may reject images, remove content or block accounts that break these rules, and credits already used are not refunded. You can report objectionable content from the app (⋯ → Report); reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours.

4. Intellectual property in what you make

You are responsible for having the rights to what you model and print. Logos, branded products, characters and many designs are protected by trademarks, copyrights or design rights. Do not use ShapeShot to reproduce, sell or distribute copies of protected works without permission.

5. 3D printing safety

Printed objects are not tested or certified for any use. In particular: - Not a toy for young children. Printed models can have small or breakable parts that are a choking hazard. Keep them away from children under 3. - Not food-safe. Do not use printed cups, plates or containers for food or drink. - Not for structural or safety-critical use.

You are responsible for operating your printer and choosing materials safely, and for following your printer's and material's instructions.

6. Your content

You keep your rights to your photos and, to the extent permitted by law, to the models generated for you. You grant us the limited technical license needed to process and store them to deliver the service (see our Privacy Policy for retention). Because results are AI-generated, other users may receive similar results.

7. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of data, or how you use, print or share models. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these terms and the list of modes, and may discontinue the service with reasonable notice. Material changes will be announced in the app.
